The Senior Parent Booster committee operates as part of the Mt. View High School Parent Association. The parent committee conducts fundraisers throughout the year to organize a drug-free, alcohol-free celebration for our graduating seniors. The committee also assists with the Baccalaureate activities.
A few parents representing the Class of 2020 began by supporting the outgoing senior class Baccalaureate and Grad Party Bag n’ Tag activities. Through word of mouth, additional parents joined and meetings were held to formalize Booster President and Secretary roles.
After meeting with the 2019 booster committee members, the MVHS tradition of a Senior T-Shirt and the best ever Grad Party became the focus. Committee meetings and brainstorming sessions were held for fundraiser ideas. We’re happy to say, we’ve outfitted over 280 students with a Senior T-Shirt. We rolled out a senior sweatshirt and really appreciate your patience as we worked through issues with the vendor. Expect to see the first delivery of sweatshirts mid November. Several homes have been surprised with Thunder Strikes showing up in their yard.
The poinsettia sale ended October 31. We appreciate everyone that pre-ordered and look forward to plants arriving November 21. We've held four 50/50 raffles at home football games. Thank you to ticket purchasers, those that donated their winning back and the volunteers who ran the raffles. Dining out with fellow MVHS supporters has been fun and a great FUNdraiser. In September, we were at Mod Pizza and ran the concession stand at McKenzie, Chipotle and another concession stand night in October, and the HUB in November.
We hosted a table at Open House night and spoke to the seniors at their first class meeting. At that meeting, Co-president Julie Adams dropped a clue about the top secret venue location! The clues can be found on our website on the INFO page.
We also participated in the MVHS handcrafter’s holiday bazaar on November 9.
All of this FUN activity has afforded us to place a down payment on your senior’s grad party venue.
